Call For Papers: Refining eating disorder-PTSD links: the dissociative subtype of PTSD (DPTSD) and complex PTSD (CPTSD)

The Collection Refining eating disorder-PTSD links: the dissociative subtype of PTSD (DPTSD) and complex PTSD (CPTSD) will focus on enhancing our understanding of these posttraumatic variations in relationship to feeding and eating disorders. Articles related to the epidemiology, phenomenology, psychoneurobiology, and treatment approaches for these specific PTSD subtypes are of particular relevance. In addition, articles that examine the commonalities and differences between classical PTSD, complex PTSD, and the dissociative subtype of PTSD in relation to feeding and eating disorders are of great interest.

Call For Papers: Food Addiction and Eating Disorders: Overlaps and Complexities

The Collection Food Addiction and Eating Disorders: Overlaps and Complexities aims to explore the nexus between food addiction and eating disorders.

Addictive patterns of eating, commonly referred to as food addiction (FA), and more recently introductions of them ultra processed food addiction (UPFA) has been discussed in published literature. The nexus between food addiction and eating disorders is currently gaining greater scientific attention as researchers work toward a more accurate understanding of the overlap complexities and the intricacies that exist between these conditions. While research suggests overlap in several areas, many questions still remain.

Call For Papers: Lending a hand: The role of social support in the management of eating disorders

As conditions that thrive on secrecy, isolation and loneliness, the role of close others in the treatment of eating disorders and the recovery process can be pivotal. However, this often does not come without significant challenges and the support network may experience difficult interpersonal reactions that interfere with their relationship with their loved one. Interventions which equip families and close others with the skills to manage eating disorder behaviours are showing potential at improving outcomes.

The Collection Lending a hand: The role of social support in the management of eating disorders focuses on the role of support from families (parents, partners, siblings, and chosen close others) in the management of eating disorders, in helping move into post-traumatic growth, and in developing a recovery identity.
